Dry Needling is a form of acupuncture that uses small needles or pins to treat muscle tissue to inactivate trigger points and restore function to that muscle tissue.
When muscle tissue is dry-needled, an immune response is triggered that can relax muscles, increase blood flow, and kick-start the healing process.
Dry needling works to:
- Increase blood flow and oxygen to the area stimulated
- Decrease swelling
- Decrease pain
- Increase range of motion
- Release trigger points
